This past weekend I caught a 5# channel catfish with only one eye. He didn't seem to look any worse for it but it got me to thinking. Can a catfish survive with no eyes? I know about Blind Cave Fish that live without eyes but could a normal catfish survive without sight? Has anyone caught such a fish?

It is my understanding that catfish rely on there smell and sense of touch to eat and not there eyesight so if this is true then yes they can. Good question though

No! I've never caught a cat like that ,but I agree with the others they use their sence of smell more than anything else so I don't know but one would wonder!!pk powell:smile2:

They have got to see or I can't catch them on aluminum foil.
