Has anyone had any luck using black salties on juglines?
What is a black saltie?
Welcome to the BOC
As far as I'm concerned they are a waste of money for me. Down
here they are $1.00 each. Two times last year I bought a dozen
black salties and 3 dozen shiners. I caught some good fish on
the shiners but unhooked the salties after 10 hours and not even
a lost bait. I was catching blues and channels with flatheads it
might be a different story.
Jim a black salty is a big grey-black minnow that the bait shop
orders from Arkansas. Down here saltwater stripe fisherman
use them. Black saltys are very large some almost big enough
i caught my biggest flathead on a salty. i do real well with them for flats
we catch stripers on them below the texoma dam. they are a bit high priced. i would not buy them all the time. they are about the same as waterdogs. if i have someone with me that only fishes once in a while i will get some to make sure the people with me get a few bigger fish. if you fish very much, you will catch enough big fish with other bait.
anyone know where we can get these around OKC?
