I have never encounterd a black bear in the wild.

But our local news paper ran a story about one being sighted near downtown, and close to where I live..I guess the bear has been seen several times from reliable sources.

It would be kinda neet to see a bear in the parking lot of my apartment!

lmao, heck with bass, that would make a lot of cut bait...................

lot of wildlife has been moving more and more to the north, turkeys are making their way, slowly but surely.

last summer we had 2 sightings 12 miles from eachother over a period of 3or4 days. one was my wifes grandfather. said he was sitting on the porch and it just walked from behind the house, across the street and into the woods. the paper had a pic of the one they saw in town. im not sure if it is a substantial population or just some wanderers strolling through

Jack, I have heard people talk about seeing bears in that area for years. I am not at all surprised and welcome their return. Perhaps they will make a habit of eating those darn Coyotes!

Yea I read about that varment in the paper. Before long they'll be alot of the bears in Ohio then we'll have a hunting season for them. Just don't wanna have a momma come up on me with her young while I'm fishing. Might have to set off the 44 magnum charge.
