Cary Vandenbroecke, a Carolinas Catfish Club member, has a feature story in the Charlotte Observer/Sports today. Cary, know as billfish76 on the BOC went from Marlins to trophy cats when he moved to Charlotte, NC. The article was written by Tom Higgins, a legend in his own time. Great article, you need to get a copy and/or maybe someone will give a way to get it on line by the net.

Heres the link to the story
    http://www.charlotteobserver.com/158/story/218760.html

He did a good job writing it except for the netting of the fish part. The net I had was a little to small for that fish, and once we had it in the net the handel started to bend, so we had to grab the hoop and pull it in. We didnt wrestle it in with our hands.

"...He did a good job writing it except for the netting of the fish part...."

Ya, and my 55 pound Arkansas blue catfish from 2006 got shrunk to 39 pounds....:eek:oooh:

NEVER let the truth get in the way of a good story!! :smile2:

Great story Cary. I picked up a copy of the paper today. Be sure to get a certificate from the NCWRC for that fish, and get it framed with the newspaper article.

Ol' Tom Higgins really knows how to tell a story well.
