I know somebody from Iowa that is running 150 pound test.

When he gets snagged, he pulls the boat up current on his rig.

That's exactly what I use on my monster rigs, except I use 80 lb. flourocarbon leader. On my smaller poles I use 65 lb. braid, and 50lb. flourocarbon leader. I use sinker slides, And rarely ever break my mainline.

I got 100# Moss Green PP on my 2 Penn 309s on 2 8' James River Customs but the biggest fish I've caught on the set up was a 22LB Flattie on a 8" Largemouth, that was like reeling in a bluegill lol. I just got my second set up so it hasnt even seen action yet. My buddy has 150# Moss Green PP on his Shakespere Tidewater on a 10' rod, he has gotten a 46LB Blue on his.

I have 150# Power Pro spooled on an Abu 10000 Big Game reel. It's my alligator gar rig, but doubles as a cat rod.

:Happy:I have two rods that I like the best, first has ABU 6600 with 100# red Power Pro and run 80# Mono for leader. Secound has ABU 6500 with 80# yellow Power Pro and 50# Mono leader. That will support the 9/0 and 10/0 kahles that I used for winter river catfishing.:Stars:

I just put 65# spider wire braid on mine. Do you like that brand? It was 11 bucks for 150 yrds at wally world. So I bought 2 rolls and put it on both my reels. I got 50# mono leader with mine.
