About sixty some odd years ago a turtle like that caused me to start catfishing. My Grand parents gave me a pole with some bacon rind for bait and sent me off to the stock pond to catch crawdads. Everything was going according to the plan until some birds came close enough that I had to take my BB gun and go make the feathers fly as my grand-dad used to say. When I came back my pole was in the water. Finally got hold of it and pulled out a turtle about like this one. I let him back in the water and went and got gran-dad. When we pulled the line out this time The turtle was gone, he had spit up the rind and left. They decided to let me have a line with a hook on it to see if I could catch Mr. Turtle again. When I came to the house again I was dragging a Catfish that wouldn't lay straight in the bottom of a #2 wash tub. I caught five good catfish in that little old pond that day and became a catfisherman forever. Thanks for reviving some good old memories!

near that size but it looks like you've got me
beat. That's a whopper! Sure is a thrill to
