Anybody ever fish Big Stone Lake out by Ortonville for cats? I'm thinking of taking a trip that way this summer to fish and scout for duck season.

I was up there last year in May, fished near the dam, in the lake near some old pilings, no bites. A guy at the bait shop said there was plenty fish in there, but the cats were mostly downstream. Guys would come out and catch a northern or two below the dam and leave. I drove from there to Browns Valley, but its a slow drive if ya follow the speed limit.

The Minnesota River has plenty of catfish. Go to Wegdahl landing. below Montevideo, or below Pete's Point, below Granite Falls.
