I received this FW: from a TX friend.
Again, Texas always has the biggest.

Texas rattler - If the date on the photo is correct it was out in mid fall, right? And it was at night! I count 15 buttons and guess about nine feet. Killed on a deer lease near Del Rio, Texas. Look at the head on it.

Makes me think of the times I've fished at night in the Del Rio area.

All you would need is salt, pepper, corn meal and hot grease. Be some good eating.

That is an impressive snake! Too bad they killed it. I have seen a couple of 6 footers here in Georgia, but nothing that fat!

That is a BIG snake. I killed one years ago that was 6'6", had 15 rattles and was 13" wide when I skinned it out. And I thought it was big.

Damn....That could be near record size!?!
A rattlesnake can strike 2/3 it's body length. Looks like you'd have to be at least 6' away from that bad boy!!!

What shame such a magnificent animal is dead.
Admittedly, I do not know the circumstances, for all I know the rattler could have been stalking the guys children and had to be dealt with but pictures of such awesome specimens as this, be it a snake over a guy's shoulder or a huge catfish in truck bed, ......oh well, enough said...W
