Im going fishing in a very small pond that I have caught 5-8 lb catfish in. But, I have known people to go down there and pull out cats that were 3 foot in length. The water is only about 10 foot deep, is there a way to try to target some of those HUGE cats, or is it just luck of the draw?

I'd rather be lucky than good any day out fishing. But you can increase your odds by fishing heavy structure with a large live bleeding bait and having a lot of patience. Good luck brother

I fish waters alot like that myself. Most often I get some in the 2-6 lb range. Didn't even think of there baing anything much larger inthere 'till an old friend of mine pulled out a 16 lber. LOL, shows how much i realy think about it. I figured "I'm catchn' cats, I'm happy" LOL
