Big Game vs. Big Game Hi Test (diameter)

    I got some Big Game 25 lb. test (.019 dia.) and 40 lb. Big Game Hi-Test (.023 dia.), only .004 difference in dia., would you use the 40 lb. on a 4500b shimano with ugly stik tiger rod, thanks for any advice.

    I didn't know it exsisted and I thank you brother for informing me that it does. Would I use it? Yes I would give it a try! Anything that will horse those brutes out of there I'll try at least once.:smile2: pk powell

    If you ask me, and I guess you sorta did, they are both too heavy for a 4500. I'd put like 12 pound test on there - maybe 15 if you wanted to stretch things a bit, but then you wouldn't have much capacity. With that heavy stuff, if yo break off one time, you'll have to go home and refill the reel.
