Nailed a nice flattie on Saturday in an average sized creek. I've never caught anything more than eaters out of it. It was 41.5", but I couldn't get it to stay on the scale for an accurate weight, I'm guessing it was just under 40 lbs. Here's the pics. Oh, its a PB BTW.

Thats an impressive fish , given it came from a creek. The creeks around here are polluted with sewage and runoff , but they hold cats too , just nowhere near that size. Congratulations on your PB!!

Man thats where alot of Big Flatheads live...You got a nice one for sure..Most smaller creeks are overlooked by Big Fish hunter but they miss out on some fun, I know of several creeks that are as small as 10' and stretch to 25-30' wide in spots that are full of deeper holes that hold monsters.

After good rains and the water runs fast then return to pool the Flatheads seek these deeper holes to live. All that is needed is a little effort on the fishermans part, to wade the creeks until you find the pools and fish it throughly,Targets can be seen easily since the pools are normally small stretches. As in rivers look for undercut banks, root-wads, fall downs, deeper pockets etc.. use live creek chubs, pumpkin seed, war-mouth etc... for bait drifted/floated or pinned near structure. You will be well on your way to a battle with a nice flathead. IMHO:wink:

    BTW-NICE FISH Bro!.
