I have a 16 ft jon boat with a 25hp johnson. I was wondering if that is enough motor to get back up river on the missouri? Never fished a river before.

I fish the Missouri and the Mississippi all the time. I have a 1648 with a 25 on it. With no problem. You just can't be in a real big hurry.

Have the same boat as you do, and a 25hp merc. It does just fine.
