my name is Keyanna. I'm nine years old. I would like to catch a big catfish. How do you catch such a big fish if you're young?:embarassed:

Do you know of kids that ever caught huge fish?

    See you around,

Keyanna Welcome to the BOC/SOC. Yes, you can catch big fish at your age. Just have your parents or friends take you fishing often.:0a18::0a25:

    Hi Keyanna! Welcome, welcome!

Since you like poems, I wrote a l'il one for ya. Maybe it'll come TRUE! :cool2:

    'Twas the green springtime 2009
When Keyanna caught a fish SO fine
That thing was HUGE, looked like a cow
Her dad said, "COOL!" Her mom said, "WOW!"

Then every member of the BOC
Said, "PLEASE Keyanna, won't you fish with ME?
I've never caught a fish that large
I'll follow you, now YOU'RE in charge!"

So she showed them all her secret spot
They each took notes and learned a lot
From that day on, as the story goes
THAT girl catches MONSTERS, and EVERYONE knows!

If you want big fish you need to use big bait. Worms are ok but shad or bluegill will get you a bigger fish.
Your spelling and grammar is great, better than allot of the adults here!

I'm hear to ask about reeling in a catfish. Is it hard, or is it easy? I have no idea.:embarassed:

Reeling in a big catfish can be pretty simple. Learn to use your drag on your reel and that will help a lot. Have someone like your dad show you how to set and use the drag on your fishing reel. The drag can be your best friend when fighting a big fish.

Hope you catch one soon. Best of luck.:cool2:

Keyanna, how difficult reeling is depends on a lot of different things. I'm not a young woman, but I think I might have to be tied to a tree myself in some cases!

Get your mom and dad to take you fishing some more, and concentrate on the little fishes first. Once you learn how to catch THEM quite often (when to move your rod up or down and when exactly to start reeling), you'll have a better idea of what it feels like. When I was a little girl, I didn't even have a rod and reel. We fished with cane poles!

All of your new "uncles" on the BOC have given you good advice! There are some really BIG catfish that even give THEM some hard times though.
