It all depends on what you feel comfortable with I think if you feel good with an 8' pole use that if a 7' fits you better use that personal preference changes by the person you gotta find Kip's rod and you'll know

They are very good rods, I liked the medium heavy like you got better than the heavy action.

The heavy action was a little to stiff in the tip for me.

I only use 10-12 foot long rods now, Or I would still be using my big cats.

I think it all depends on what you feel comfortable with and what is strong enough and the proper action for you

Yeah I just wanted to know if they held up good and was dependable. My buddy has a couple and I really liked them. There nice rods and exactly how i like my rods. I really like the 7'6" with cork handles and trigger. I put my 7000C3Is on them spooled em up with 40# Big Game. Im ready for some action!

I've got 4 of the 7'10" med. heavys and they work for me.

My Dad has 4 of the 7'6" med. heavys also.

If you take good care of them, they'll last you awhile.

I have 1 and i am planning on getting another one or two. Some dont like them but I haven't had any problem with mines. I do prefer the mh over the heavy action though

I wish Quantum still made the big water Iron baitcasting reels... That reel and a medheavy big cat rod is the perfect combination.

I stopped using Quantum Big Cat rods a couple of years ago when one snapped right above the handle. I've talked to quite a few people who have had the exact same problem, and quite a few who say they're the best rod they've ever owned. I personally don't need something I can't count on.

I've switched exclusively to Catfish Safari rods and couldn't be happier - those rods can handle any giant blue cat you'll ever hook into and won't buckle in the heat of battle (or when trying to get a snag loose!)
