Was fishing the other day and was having low success so I decided to throw a Rapala Crankbait to see if I could catch some bass. I got a strong hit as it passed a stump and had a great fight with what I thought to be a 2 pound bass by the feel of it. When I got it to the boat it was a pound and a half shellcracker. It hit a 3 1/2 inch double jointed crankbait! By the size of its mouth I think there is no way it could actually have eaten it. Could this have been an aggressive territorial strike?

I dont know if its time for them to be on beds yet.If so that might have made him hit at it.

I've got one of those jointed Rapalas that's about an inch long that I'm going to try on the gills this summer.
