To those of you using a large bobber and bait setup do you have to worry about the fish being spooked when the bobber hits the water after a cast?

My experiences have been that it doesn't seem to bother the fish at all. I make and sell the KatBobbers that are the biggest bobbers made and have caught fish in a lot of cases immediately after casting in, Flatheads and Blues.

Nope,in fact it may help.Sounds like baitfish trying to escape a predator.

In fact, there are special"popping" corks made for saltwater.

I use Gene's (Maine Wolf) largest KatBobber's with large baits and a good sized sinker and in my opinion the "splash" isn't at all harmful. I have had hits in less than a minute of casting and setting the rig.
