BEST RIG FOR EEL

    WHATS UP GUYS I AM GOING OUT TONIGHT AND PROLLY GOING TO USE SOME EEL I DONT KNOW HOW STRONG THE CURRENT IS BUT I WAS JUST TRYING TO GET SOME OPINIONS ON THE BEST RIG FOR LIVE EEL

    i use carolina rig 4oz weight & 8/0circle hook seems to work well for me good luck went last nite with wes (fatflattie) . he boated 3 flats and lost 4 more i got 1 little blue good nite all & all

    I use 6 to 8oz no rolls on a carolina rig with a 10/0 gamakatsu octopus hook.

    Yeah, a carolina rig is all I ever use. Hook size probably shouldn't be any less than a 6/0 and an 8/0 is probably a good idea. Make sure that you just barely hook the piece of eel on there b/c he's not going to go anywhere after it's on the hook and the less meat in the gap of the hook the better. Weight will just depend on the amount of current and the depth. We used 1-6oz weights last night.

    Use a short leader with the rig and clip the eels tail with scissors. :wink:
