Where is the most productive spot to place a perch trap?

My #1 spot is ponds if you have access to them. #2 would be creeks and I usually do better keeping them close to or in a deeper pool. #3 would be the edge of wed beds in rivers.

Usually if I am going to the lake and I am planning on using live perch I will bring them with me. But the few times that I have tried in the lake I done pretty good along rock banks, deeper water just out from weed beds and around docks. The only problem with docks is I use a 3 liter mountain dew jug to mark my traps and you will need to keep it out of the way of boat traffic.
