Ok, Here's my question. I've read all the debates on different kind of hooks. I fish on the bottom (no bobber) with a carolina rig usually gold fish for bait. What hooks does everybody recommend and why? I've been using 5/0 J hooks, but I want to try Circles. Do you recommend them for my type of fishing?

personally i use 8/0-10/0 Gamagatsu J hooks...hook them right behind the dorsal fin a little bit down and that is all you will need...let them take a good run and rip them jaws

I use a 5/0 circle for small bait (3 to 4 inch bluegill) I also use a 5/0 for cut bait . I have been thinking of going to an 8/0 circle for the whole gills . If the bait is larger then a few inches I would go with a bigger hook .

If your wanting to try circles. Depending on bait size I would start with the 5/0 Team Catfish and if needed go up to 8/0.
