What is the best rod for fishing big flatheads?
Probably nice to let folks know where and how you intend to go fishing (ie... lake, river, boat, bank, etc..) Also, if you get more than one answer as to what the "Best" rod is, how do you decide who to believe?
(There is really no "Best" rod, reel, line, bait, car, truck, food, boat, etc...)
I use Quantum BigCat rods and they work for me. For $40 they're hard to beat.
their is always a "best".........just a different best for different people,to me the best rod is the white ugly stik striper rod,i have caught a 58# flat head on one of mine, they work best for me and the way i fish.
I'm still pretty new to fishing for big flatheads, so i appreciate the advice.
I would have to say the Berkely ECAT
I like big cat rods, and Jim Moyer Boss rods. How big of a diffrence is there between the boss and ecat?
Ugly stik tiger rod, for pure lifting power.
rwBrown1, jeeze just asking in your opinion what was best.
i like the cabelas XH muskie pole for fishing with current or big baits and a shakepear uglystick MH for everything else.
Jim Moyer "The Boss" Or An Ugly Stik Tiger.
J.P. if you have a Gander Mountain nearby, try their Creekside fishing brand catfish series rods. I have two of them and love em. They're white and work really great for night fishing. They got great action and enough backbone to pull in the big ones. And for $14.99 you can't beat the price!
