Your choices are good but you should have put it with just live bait and cut bait. There are some here that have caught most of thier flatties on cut not live.

I think a lot of it depends on what the situation is. For instance, my dad went fishing at Camp Robinson Wildlife Management Area TWICE last week. There are several little lakes in there, and he fished the same lake on both days, at least for part of the time he was there. When he was at the lake the first time, the catfish were biting on Charlie Blood A like they were having a Thanksgiving dinner with that as the main course. The second day he was there at the same lake, they weren't biting on that. He got strikes on Liver and Cheese Stinkbait. And then on the second day he went to Lake Cherrywood, which is not part of the WMA. They won't bite on stinkbaits there...they bite on nightcrawlers, usually. So it varies from lake to lake and even day to day.

during my research of flatheads, the first fish population destroyed by the flatties is redbreasts. However, when checked by biologists, the fish seem to have a very diverse diet, so I would have to say it depends on the body of water and what lives there.

I couldn't vote, I like live bluegill and bluegill heads best in the areas of the Ohio River I fish the best. Israeli Carp & Goldfish would be my next choices. It really matters what they want that night.
We went Friday night and threw Live Bluegill, cut gills, cut shad, cut skipjack, shrimp, Israelis and cicadas and only had one good run and that was on an israeli. I guess the Full Moon had something to do with it....:confused2::smile2:

I have caught all of my flatheads on cut bait. I have tried live bait but it always seems to die and I wind up cutting it up and catching fish, LOL!!! My PB Flathead (63.5lbs) came from a bluegill head.

You have now found a place where the fishermen don't always go by the "statis quo" and are willing to do what works for them!!!
