Has anyone got any feedback on the berkley big game line? I got a spool really cheap at Wally World and was wondering what people thought of it before I line the reels with it. It was only 7 dollars for 440 yrds.

Been using it for years, had switched to powerpro for a short time but went back to the BBG line and I'll stick with it, I respool before each and every tournament so the line doesn't get a lot of use on the reels, but if a big one ever comes along I don't want to trust it to any other line...........Doc

Same stuff I use. Good stuff.

BTW - $7 isn't "really cheap" -- it's the going rate at most places for a 1/4 lb spool...

I use Berkley Big Game 25#, I'm hooked on it. Now keep in mind a 20 pound cat will be biggest I could ever hope to catch where I fish.I'm not so sure it would work well on say a 40 pound flat head. I also get mine at Wally World. I say - good stuff

One of the reasons I am using 30 lb is because at the FCC if I hang into the big one I want to make sure he dont get away.LOL.

I've had good luck with it on all my rods. I fish salt and freshwater and it's never let me down yet. I usually take about 8-10ft of line off of each rod before the next fishing trip. I don't want to take the chance of the line being nic'd or weak. Hope it works out for ya.

I agree.....It's what I use,40#-50# test. It can take the abuse in the wood and rocks, and never let me down.

You can't go wrong useing Berkley Big Game line. I use 30# through 50# . I've got to have the Solar line because of my eyes. I can't tell any difference in the bites I get with the brighter line. Good Luck:smile2:

You can not and will not go wrong with big game. The Flat in my pic was caught on 20lb Big Game. Now I got some 30 through 50 on all my reels. I really want to to try the Electric Blue Big Game.
