Been thinking of using rice for chumming

    Seems like it would be nearly perfect.
    cooked in your bait flavored water they might just go for your bait faster.
    So what do you guys think?

    Doesn't sound like a bad idea. Rice does soak up whatever it's cooked in.

    Throw in some ground shad.

    dont sound bad......it is worth the try...it might stink to high heaven but like the other guys said ground up shad and boil it into the rice...you can also try making it alittle thicker with some flour in it

    Does it swell when wet? May give the fish a permanent belly ache.

    Yeah it does but it'd be cooked so the swelling would probably be over.

    I tried some cooked rice mixed with Anise extract, canned tuna and strawberry Kool-aid last month and to me it did not produce. I noticed plenty of minnows and blue crabs in the area where I tossed it though.
