beef hearts !

    Anyone ever use cow hearts for bait?

    I've never used them, but they look like they stay on the hook better.

    Anything that has blood in it will catch Channel Cats. Give them a try a find out for yourself.:wink: Good luck and post the results!!:big_smile: I'll bet beef hearts will be some of the best bait you can try. I know some guys that swear by them.

    i get chicken hearts every once in a while in my tub of livers from the store... i think they are no good, through experience and from my mentor(grandpa) they do stay better on the hook but they are also a little thck, i find a softer bait entices the cat to take off with the bait vs something thick and hard....

    those beef hearts worked awesome! we cut the heart into strips around 1 1/2" by 1" those cats didnt mess around, there was no nibbling.
