Beef heart as bait for channel catfish??

    JUST WONDERING I HAVE ALWAYS USED CUT BAIT OR CHICKEN LIVERS FOR CHANNEL CATIN BUT I WAS AT WALMART THE OTHER DAY AND PICKED UP A PACK OF BEEF HEART AND IT IS TOUGH AND REAL BLOODY. JUST WONDERING WHAT YOU ALL THINK OF USING BEEF HEART? ANY OTHER IDEAS PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND THANKS AND FISH ON. TIGHT LINES!!!!!!!!!

    Have not used it. There is another thread that talks about this, I forget exactly where, but it was earlier this year.

    It seems anything with beef does not work. Liver/heart/steak I have had no luck with any beef.

    my dad caught a 12 and a half pound channel on beef spleen but it was fresh from a cow killed that day. Then another time last summer caught 8 channels in 1 night ranging from 22-30 inches all on beef spleen.

    never tried any beef, but I heard rabbit meat works great.

    i have had luck with beef liver, but never tried the hearts
