Find a local craft store - Michael's or Hobby Lobby or even Wal-Mart. They'll have all the beads you want. And they'll be a lot cheaper than buying the same stuff from a fishing tackle dealer.

any craft store would have them. I wanted some that glowed in the dark for saltwater and ordered them from a fly shop in canada.

Wal Mart in the Craft section. You can get any size, color, material that you want. I got some wood ones. I think they work great.

As Tea says the Wal Mart craft section.I use red plastic which have an opening big enough to slip over my knot which is why I use them ;to protect my knot from the sliding sinker.:smile2:Or you can do as Jeb does and let your wife buy them then "borrow" some from her stash. That reduces costs LOL

Ive never used them before but am fixing to try them. I seen the ones in the craft section at walmart ( wood and plastic )but ended up buying the ones in the fishing section I think they were 50 in a pack for around a buck. Does anyone know the difference between the two?

The craft section beeds have a selection with larger hole. They are rounded as well to take the stress off the knot. That is the whole reason for having the beed.

I use the wooden ones, I just like them better and they are softer in case there is any contact.

PM me your address and I will ship you some, I will never use all these. You can see what I am talking about. Same offer goes for everyone, just shoot me a PM.

I've never used beads so I'm asking- is this the main pupose for them? To protect your knot from the sliding weight. Or do they serve purposes in other ways?

I also use a bead above my slip bobber so that way the bobberstop(rubber band) stops at the bead, allowing me to fish at any depth.
