Is one brand any better, Than another. have a 175 merc. sports jet and getting ready to replace baterry, a 3 year battery 2years old and not staying up like it should. Walmart is the easeyest for me but, would't mind spending a little more if better.
    any help apprecated.

I've heard the gel type batteries hold up good but you'll pay a premium price for them. Personally I've always used Interstate some like Excide.

Tha last few years i have replaced quite a few wal-mart batteries, in autos they seem to be lasting just under 3 years .

That is the more expensive ones they carry..
And at the same time the autozone gold top batteries have proven extremely reliable . with a 3 year free replacement and i think 8 year pro rate..

I am running the gold tops in all my vehicles including my boats.. without a failure soo far
    Knock on wood

I used to run the wally world batteries and they would normally make it past 5 years...not so true any more
