More like it "wants to be a 6000", but just doesn't muster up the same strenght and quality from what I've seen. It reminds me more of the Shakespear skp2000. Might be ok for fish around the 5lb mark, but the experience I've had with the shakespear skp2000 is they aren't much for fish bigger than that.

i use the bsp mcm 2000 baitcaster and also the skp from shakespeare. i have caught lots of fish on them only problems i have had with them is the bait clicker needing adjustment i cant afford abus right now so i spend 20-30 a reel and i have caught up 2 55 lb flat head on them the drag is only goodup to 15 lbs the it starts slipping i mostly set my drag to 5 lbs and use my thumb to control the pressure on it. but i also dontuse drag on spinning reel i back reel on them to control the fight

I've bought ABUs off of ebay for less than a new Bass Pro and Shakespear knock off. Shop around, you can get them now and then, mostly in the winter months.
