Had a friend stay for an overniter at bartlett at the river just below the dam, after catching three channels about 24inches a piece they tied off a stringer at the bank before shut eye and when they went to collect in the morning they found two of the channels were only left with a head. I can only imagine how big of a flatty would consume a two foot channel.

It would be nice to believe it was a giant flattie.

Sadly, I've heard that same story a million times, and each time, it was a pesky turtle.

But I wont say anything if you don't. ;]

I watched a snappin turtle eat half my big bass infront of me with about one bite. If I would have had a gun he wouldnt have ate anything else.

I still like the big flatty, how far away was your stringer?

that happened to us years ago. had a couple channels on a stringer tied to the dock. We went for breakfast and came back to the sight of a turtle helping himself. But anything is possible. Gotta agree with Dirtdobber on this one. The flathead sounds better.
