I know that there has been a lot of debate over alternative methods of catfishing in the NC section. Should this be another method that is scrutinized for its effectiveness?
Got a buddy who will not leave the house without his little uglystick "kids rod". Originally bought it for his wife and would not let her have it in the divorce. LOL!:smile2: No kidding, they did not fight over much else but they both wanted that pole bad!:smile2:
Hasn't caught a record, but that little thing casts like a dream and he does quite well with it.
It has put a lot of fish in his freezer.
It might not win anything in "ROD WARS" but it caught a state record channel!!! Not a custom, expensive or inexpensive manufactured rod, but a barbie pole...just gotta know how I guess
I guess this is a pretty good lesson in "keepin' it simple". BTW - I have got 6 "like new" catfish rods for sale. Wanted: 2 Barbie Poles!!!!!:smile2::roll_eyes:
If you ever catch a "large" channel on light tackle and you appreciate it even more. A 2 or 3 pounder is a powerhouse on a bluegill rod.
