When the water is a little lower I would walk down from the furthest parking lot down to the river and cross the creek and there are alot of decent places to set up and have a fire. I have caught quite a few a night down there. I wouldn't try up towards the dam myself because the rocks and current equal lots of lost tackle.

Been a while but the dam is usually a good place to go. Also the steam plant is pretty much shut down for bankfishing. Most of the time someone is fishing right at Gallatin Rd. at Drakes Creek from the bridge.
