I'll be diving in this giant pool at the end of the month...I found this video with some catfish swimming past a diver! They look dark in color? what type of Catfish is this?
I know they have Mexican Tetras and soft shelled turtles.. and flat heads in this water?

Look like channels but their tails look weird. Forget the diving and drop a hook in there.:smile2:

They do look like channel cats, but the most definitely flatheads. The tail and darkness of their bodies gives it away, Channel cats don't get that dark and their tails don't get square like that till their in the forty and fifty pound range. And those cats look to be about five to ten pounds. I hope this helps.

I gotta say those are channels,I have seen lots in that size from my lake in the past,The tails tend to loose the pronounced fork as they get larger.

Been a few years since I was at the Balmorhea swimming hole. Remember seeing lots of fish, never paid attention other than they were some cats. Nice place!
