Who's fishin Baldwin this weekend? I plan on goin tomorrow!
i cant fish till sunday. i have to go to a DEP meeting at 1 tomorrow. otherwise i would be there with bells on.
I really do not know what I am doing tomorrow... I do not know if fishing in is the cards or not.
My dad and I are planning on trying it for a couple hours tomorrow morning. Hopefully the fishing is better than it has been!
Doesn't look like I will be doing. Need to inventory and stock the camper... get it preped for Rend :confused2:
The 40#+ Blues are hiding on a slow drift or set up with shad in between (lat=38.2047N by lon=89.8628W to lat=38.2014N by lon=89.8658W) on a northern to Southern set up, if wind will allow a drift :big_smile_2:
AKA.. The fish are in the water. Find them. :smile2:
Easier said than done :confused2:
Didn't have much luck this morning. Dad caught an 11.5# blue, but that was about it. Did catch some nice gills for bait!
Wonder why it has been so dog gone rough for the fish in Baldwin to bite. Crazy!
Wish you had some better luck... really was expecting better outcome.
Were you using any cut shad or just the bluegill? I been having good luck with some large shad near the hot water dump.
Hmmm, I thought you had a gps in your boat Arron? Still not a bad fish, better than i caught today, acre of mowing before the next rain, LOL!
Tried both. Dad's fish was on bluegill - a couple smaller ones on shad.
Caught the one decent blue close to the coordinates you provided. Not much else.....:confused2:
My son and I caught 10 blues between 4 and 14 pounds. Bluegill did about as well as the shad.
Dangit Kev... how do you always pull in more than the rest of us... fishermen inflation? LOL
Persistence and determination!
I guess some weekend I'll have to try to come over there to Baldwin and drown some bait with all of you guys. Sounds like a place i would like to fish
Paul let me know when you are planning on coming up. I'm sure Brian, Kevin or I would have room for ya.
Despite the fact that the bite has been really off and slow.... I think it is my most favorite lake. Lots of blue cats populate that lake and the occassional flathead makes it a pretty nice lake for catting.
I agree. When you "only" catch 1 or 2 blues over 10# a day and consider it a slow day, that's a testament to the fishery. It is also one of the few places where you can fish in the middle of winter.
