I'm worried that if I cast my bait too hard it'll rip off or die.

I normally need to cast about 50-120 yards.

Is it possible that the bait will rip off the hook or die on impact if I cast it too hard ?

Yes to hard of a cast will rip the bait right off the hook.. by adding a little extra weight on there will make for light long smooth casting. Hope this helps.

really it depends on how you're hooking the bait, if you're using fresh bait live or cut you shouldn't have a problem the only time i've had problems with it is using frozen baits and they've gotten to soft or shallow hooked my bait when casting. as far as the impact killin them unless you're casting 60ft in the air in a huge U shaped rainbow you'll be just fine
