Has anyone been catching their own bait lately? How about near the Pinopolis Dam? I'd like to go this weekend; just wondering whether to try and catch some, or purchase it someplace. Thanks

How's it going Tommy. Haven't heard much from you lately. Tried to catch some bait for Hill's tournament 2 weekends ago. Didn't have much luck. Ended up buying gizzard shad. We did catch some small herring from the diversion canal by the plant intake. Small. Bullheads are schooling in the canal. Saw a very large school of them. Not too sure about the lower dam. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks, Jason. I've been doing a lot of other things lately and haven't catfished in 3 months or more; trying to get started back now that the weather is cooling down. Water temps aren't low enough yet to really bunch up the bait, but it won't be long. The juvenile shad and herring are on their out-migration run, so the canal and the dams should be good places to start.
