have a trip plan for june. a lot of people use blue back herring . i know they can be bought . just wondering if they in the lake with cast net. by the way is there a trick to the way you cut them . been to santee a few times and bought herring . still didnt catch much.:confused2:
Jay Welcome to the BOC. You should be able to catch the bluebacks or threadfin shad either one works just fine. Cut the tail off and fillet it from the back up to the gillplate and hook through head and the side with the backbone still in it. If you look in the member library there are somr good articles with great pics that will explain better. Dont forget about white and yellow perch for bait the flatties love em. Good luck and send us a good report.
