While fishing for Flatheads from the bank, I use my clickers on my baitcasters and just loosen the drag on my big spinning reels. Works great for me. Poles must be secure in a good rod holder!

Clickers have there place but I prefer to back off on the drag and use the clip on bell

Jake ....when a biggun takes off with your bait.....the clicker isn't going to effect him what so ever! Most of the time when a fish wont run clicker....it is either a small one or a channelcat or gar or something. A big flathead will run clicker and take every bit of line you got on your reel if you aint watching. JMO.....:cool2:

wl ill tell you this ill bet your fishing a calm lake, right, they do tend to run like that, but , sometimes they run your cliker and come back to you, that messed me up last night could of been a big flat or a small flat or a channel, some say they bite diff erant, not in my case i think they all hit the same, so you cant tell unless you feel the weght unless your an expert at your holes or what not , i recon lol
