Ok its stated in the 2009 fishing guide that the bag limit on lakes is 10 catfish...

    Channel Catfish
    Bag Limits
There is no bag limit on catfish taken
from streams and no bag limit on channel
catfish taken from Gibson Lake (Gibson
County) or Turtle Creek Reservoir (Sullivan
County). In all other lakes and reservoirs,
the bag limit is 10 fish for any combination
of flathead, blue or channel catfish.

So with that posted, my question is... If i take my 7 yr old daughter fishing with me for some eater channels, at eagle creek or brookville res, does this make our daily bag limit 20 fish? or is it still 10 since she isnt required to have a license? Im not sure how this works, but am wanting to get some for the freezer this weekend!

    Thanks all

it makes your bag limit ten and hers ten. If DNR see's you personally catch 10 and the start adding to her bag limit you get fined. Just dont let them see ya if you do it is all i can say

Sorry Kyle...you didn't catch your PB walleye or your first walleye. Regardless, it is quite a catch! And a rare catch! That little fishy is in the perch/walleye family (Percidae) but not a walleye. It's a log perch...cool little fish that's considered a darter. I've seen them up to about ~7 inches. Did you hook & line him?!

ok man, sorry,i didnt mean to hurt your feelings. that will be cool to watch. if i remember rite, when i had one it stood up on its side fins on the bottom most of the time. that rubber nose is funny looking isnt it. never had any luck using them as bait, too spiny i guess.

heh no hurt feelings here.. we learn something new ever day.. that is a neat little critter though.. i dont have it in my tank, a friend does aloong with his channels and largemouth bass.. hes supposedly going to get up to a 200 gal tank this summer for them to roam around in.. bought the channels and largemouth at clear creek fisheries back in like oct.. there about 6-7" long now.. hopefully keeping them in that small of an aquarium (55 gal), they wont grow too fast...

he said the fish i caught lastnight, is just hanging out in the cover, being sure to avoid the other fish..

the limit is 10 a day per person but what I will do allot of times is go out late in the evening try to get our bag limit and then stay till after midnight and try to catch another bag limit. You are allowed to have to days creel possesion. Thats how we get away with 40 fish between us. Make sure that you start catching the second days creel after midnight though.
