    Ok in the other homemade pickle thread I said I was trying a new to me recipe that makes crispy dills ,and if it panned out I'd share.
    WELL it did so far I've made 20+ pints and yesterday had my first jar that failed to seal,soo I just couldnt resist a taste test.:wink: Well,I ain't bragging ,but these are by far the best we have ever tried to make .

    To begin with you must place your pickling cukes in a tub of ICE WATER for a minimum of 1 hr before making. This is what assures that they will have that crunch.:big_smile:

    Basic brine;
    1 Quart white vinegar
    2 Quarts purified water
    1/2 Cup pickling salt

    1 place 1 T dill and 1 whole peeled garlic clove in the bottom of each jar
    2 pack the sterilized jars as tightly as possible with cuces
    3 spoon BOILING brine into jars ,Leaving 1/2 " headspace
    4 Process in boiling water bathfor 15 min for QUART JARS.
    I used 10 min for the PINT JARS
    The recipe calls for a 6 week wait
