anyone ever catfish here wanted to try it in a week or so wanted to no if anyone has tryed it ?
Last time i fished it was last year in Feb. got no bites at all:embarassed: You ever catch any cats out there bro?
Bass, crappie and bluegill and trout only but never really tried for cats
I have heard you can and when people drive by they ask if I have caught any cats and most people i talk to out there about 25% are fishing cats
I tried stink bait, liver and crawlers out there last year. It was mossy on the bottom. Maybe another area could have been better maybe:confused2:
I'm not positive on this, but I don't think there are any catfish in Avacado Lake. I've caught a couple trout off the bank there before. The water there I think may be a little too cold for the cats. I could be wrong, but I have never heard of anybody catching cats there. They have cats at Pine Flat though.
I wonder if you can fish this lake at night?
I was told you can you just cant camp i just dont no what time you have to leave
I think during the summer you have to be out of there by 10:00pm. Not too sure, but I think that's what it was when I was last there(2 yrs ago). It would be interesting to see if there is any cats in there, but I don't think so.
I WAS TOLD THEY DONT EVEN CLOSE THE GATES
i might go tomorow night i got my boy this weekend i will see where he wants to go
The weather looks good for you Vince. Let us know how you do.
Don't forget to put out some trout PowerBait or a shad based attractant. They will bite at night and often it's the bigger ones that are more active.
cats eat power bait?
I think i will be out there this week end my boy likes going there better then mendota
Yeah, as a matter of fact they do on occasion , even though I was referring to the trout that are no doubt in that lake.
Not only that but Berkley makes power bait for cats as well as trout.
I always carry some Catfish power bait to add to my cut bait when the bite is slow.
I have caught cats at Eastmen and Hensley lakes on power bait. It was by accident:roll_eyes:
I was told by someone a long time ago that
Fish bite for two reason & two reason only & that's:
"Hunger or Reaction" but "Never by accident".
(Think about it Buddy)
Now thats what I am talking bout......That is the way to look at it brother. Nothing happens by accident. Especially in fishing........
