I would like some info if anyone knows. I have a 1981 Mercury 9.8 maual start. Is there a way that I can get auxillary power from my motor to run a spot light? I know some motors come with two wires for this but mine doesn't. This way I wont have to keep recharging a battery at home. Does anyone know please help

Check out www.ishopmarine.com. They have a handy catalog that will help you locate your charging kit.
Ckick on the eCatalogs link on the left menu and then click on Index for Mercury Marine.
You can look under "Cable to Clip"
then click on "charging kit battery"

I installed my charging kit on my brand new Merc 9.9 manual tiller and it works great. Keep in mind they only output a few amps at full throttle, but since I don't rely a battery to start the motor, it does just fine for lights, aerators, depth finder, and other small accessories.
