Hey guys I just wanted to bust in and introduce myself. My name is Brian and I like to catfish. I live up in NWA a mile or 2 from the Hickory Creek park on Beaver lake. I mainly fish the Hickory Creek and War Eagle areas. I plan on doing some traveling this fall and attempt to catch some big cats. I look forward to getting to know all of you and maybe some of us can hook up and do some catching.

Welcome Brian, we dont fish for cats at Beaver, usually white bass at night.
We pretty much go for the big blues drift fishing on the Ar. River below the dam @ Dardanelle.
We will be there fri night. The flow will be perfect.

Brian,
Welcome to the brotherhood/USCA.
Like Big Sam said, I live up here in NWA. I have fished the Hickory Creek area of Beaver for years..........for bass :(
I know Beaver enough to know all the GOOD spots for catfish..............let's see,....just a "few" miles southeast of Hickory Creek, there is the Arkansas river out of Clarksville...........a few miles southwest is the Arkansas river out of Dam 13, due south is the Arkansas river out of Ozark............farther southwest is Kerr lake in Oklahoma............due west of Hickory is Grand Lake in Oklahoma.........and way southeast is Wheeler lake in Alabama
.........as you can see, I don't think much of Beaver and catfishing, but have caught smaller blues, flathead and channels on trotlines/jugs at night.
There have been posts lately about people catching cats on Beaver. Read them, they will help you. It just isn't the cat water as the Arkansas river or Kerr lake.
You can catch catfish up here, but have to just get on the bluffs and go from there.
Good luck. If you can, head south to the Arkansas river. You can catch blues in any stretch of the river.
I think Big Sam was hoping I would "reveal" some good information about his "favorite" cat lake in Arkansas...............GREERS FERRY.

Thanks to everyone that replied.

ccat your right that Beaver is not a hot bed for monsters cats, but it might be a better cat lake than bass lake. Most the bass in that lake will never reach their full potential due to the fact that they spend their whole life in a livewell.

I've been down to Ozark a few times. I plan on spending more time down there this fall. I went to Kerr lake back in Febuary, but could not get on any good fish.

Kerr is one place I would like to try. Seems to be pretty good at times. But with L&D 13 about 30 min from the house. I'm still trying to get my rhythm down. You know practice makes perfect so to speak..
