Are these ammo prices cheap or affordable?

    Been seeing where ammo is coming down some for ak's and sks's.
    1000 rounds yugo 7.62 for $200 + shipping.
    Have seen cheaper as well for other makes.

    Many of those are FMJ so for target shooting they are ok. Also something to check is many of the surplus rounds are corrosive so you will have to take the gun apart and clean it thoroughly.

    The site i seen this at was talking about corrosive as well, mainly seemed to be in the yugo rounds, if i remember right. I dont shoot that cal but thought it might help others.

    A friend and I built a Remington 700 short action in 7.62X39 for him to have a cheap ammo gun to shoot and play with. He bought a few thousand (5 or 7,000 if I remember correctly) rounds in one purchase and now, 8 years later I think he just bought more. It is a blast to shoot and his wife has taken deer with it. The recoil is much lower than a 308 even.

    That sounds like cheap price for ammo, especially if it includes shipping. I been lookin at ammo lately for .'06 and .308 but its all pretty spendy. Seems to have gone up 50% the last year.

    Starting to come down,just got some 7.62 spam cans(720 rounds) for 100$ each


    Thats 7.2 cents each

    Man there is no such thing as cheap and affordable these days . The thing to ask yourself is it worth it at that price to you . If it is jump all over it .
