I fished the Appomotox also this weekend and caught a white perch with a sore or leasion on its back just under the dorsal fin. The sore was about the size of a nickel and had some clear mucose on top of the sore looked pretty nasty. I'm thinking this is caused by some type of pollution/acid rain. Once all the fossil fuels are gone the sores will go away. Thats my theory and I'm sticking to it!
