Is the chum washing away or are the bream eating it all? I would try dogs food in cans punch a couple of holes in it and run a stringer/rope through a couple of the holes to get the can out of the water. If you are using soured corn you could put it in panty hose are a chum bag. just a couple of ideas I hope they help

brownwood is fine for cats, not that many blues, but lots of yellow cat and channels. try the flats out from the baptist encampment, driftfishing works good. ivie is real low, i have fish it for channels and never been able to find them..i know it should be good, but have trouble catching cats there, not a problem for bass
