i think the flatheads are very close to being done for the year (at least at salt fork)...

i think the water temp is droppin too fast for them to bite... everyone ive talked to says 55 degrees and theyre done...........

so i was wondering if anyone had an actual temperature lately...

with SNOW in the forecast around here the season is closing up very fast

    looks like it's channel time!

We fished last night. Water temp at Salt Fork was 52 degrees. I didnt think we catch any but we caught two small flatheads. 16 and a 26 lber. They both smelled like shad. Must be feeding on shad before they get set for winter.

WOW.........it was 61-65 last weekend all weekend.....and already down to low 50's.

I would say go with fresh caught shad if you can get some. possibly use them live if you can keep em alive long enough to get casted out. The shad were thick and everything was feeding on them last weekend.
