I haven't been doing to good the last couple times I've been, just a few channels. I'm going tonight and am going to try several different baits and rigs to see if I can figure out whats going on.
let me know what works for you.

I think the lack of rain and the heat has really affected the bite all over. It has been real slow here in the Louisville area.

hey i'd loved to take ya come on up .or maybe you can try our technique 1st get a boat then get to the deepest part of the river (usualy the barge lane ) make sure you can see both ways on the river and watch for the barges you could get killed take some good pole holders mounted to the boat use carolina rig i think thats where the sinker is on the bottom use blue gill or shad or skippies run hook thru the eyes back thru side back thru the tail (sort of looks stitched) drop over the side of the boat till you fill the sinker hit bottom drift the boat and allow bait to bounce (sort of like jigging only up and down) eventually you will drift into a school then hang on for a good fight ......in hot weather fish tend to run deeper. hey if your hot would you want to swim in 90* water. nope. neither do the fish hot water has less oxygen thats why you find bait fish around the mouth of a creek or neer dams catfish like those places as well .try it .good luck

I've been fishing local lakes and not doing very good get a couple of bites until about 7:15am then nothing.
Been catching blues drifting on tenn river at calvert city 28ft plus water on cut skippies yellow tails spoonbill liver catch all we want to dress
driftn's the way to go ,deeper the water the better ,if your fish'n a lake look for deep water or a spot that dont get much sun maybe even a fresh water spring cold water is best if the surface temp is above 80* better go deeper
You are right about them barges, really got to pay attention to them. I work with a lady who lost her husband a couple of years ago on the river in some fog, barge ran right over him and his buddy during a night time cat trip. Be careful out there!
i know on the green you need to be aware of the barges and get to the bank
The green is a little dangerous with barges.
