I'm looking for a used bass or jon boat. Willing to pay up to $1500.00. Doesn't have to be in the greatest shape. Willing to travel to pick it up. I'm desperate!!

Put a free ad in Craigslist under BOATS:

    for example:

Jon Boat Wanted or just Boat Wanted

14 -16 ft- 18ft, no leaks, titled, call xxx xxx-xxxx have $1500 cash

You will get plenty of calls. Don't want calls leave out phone number and get emails

Most Boats will have motors and trailers. Test out the motor compression. Run with hose and motor muffs (bring your own $15 in wal mart buys both).
Alum Boats fill with 6" of water and go underneath and check for leaks.
Test transom. Look for strees cracks in top corners. Step on motor at 45 degrees. If top of transom flexes, run....

    Hope this heps!!!

Good advice! I've found a few very good deals on crag's list. Ebay can be good too if you limit your search geographically.
