Wondered if anyone has been hitting the Tuscarawas River lately. The river has been high, but that also means some easy pickins if you go to the right spots. I know Jwin was out when the water first came up, but haven't talked to him since. I have hit a couple spots and caught a few channels, but not the big ones you usually get in the high water. My neighbor said he caught 8 channels 4-8 lbs the day after the water first came up. he was using crawlers, I've been using shad.

Maybe that's my problem.......I need to go back to basics....hahaha

Ended up with only a couple of small ones that night. We put in at Tusky and went all the way up Stillwater to the Urichsville dam! Spots that were normally 2-3' were 8-9'!

We even had to throw out two anchors on Stillwater!

Shane and Bob are going out today, so I'll let you know how they end up doing. I think it still might be a little to high and the water is still really muddy, but you never know!

Water looks perfect today! I just went by the ramp and saw the trailer..........and I'm jealous again. the water is down some and is still off color, but it's a good cattin color and level right now. It's a matter of them finding where to try.

I'm hittin the river this evening is anyone wants to go.

Can't say I know either way. I never see a dropoff in the flathead activity on the Tusc. We also average small flatties, with a lot of 10-25 lbers mixed in too though. I caught a 15 lber shortly before the river flooded.........but since it came way up......haven't been trying for them. I most likely won't be aiming for flatties until the river drops a couple more feet. Then again, things always change once I get on the water. I'll prob end up tossing one in for flats and one for channels.
