its not that far away from me...just curious at what it had to offer
I have never fished the lake for cats, but when I was younger we did alot of bowfishing on the lake. I dont live near the lake but my grandfather does. The lake is very sandy and clear. I dont think it has many cats in it. I'm not saying you want catch some where creeks or the river flows into the lake but we never saw many while bow fishing. You shouldn't be too far from the capefear river or the black river both of which support a healthy fish population. I hope this helps.
Wouldn't bother. If you're going to go down around there check out Lake Tabor. Only has channel cats but there are some big ones. The guy that runs the tackle shop said he caught a 19 something and ate it! I told him it would have been a state record and he couldn't believe it.
